Hand-Crafted Homes
At Mountain Homes, we specialize in quality hand crafted log work. We build all types and styles of log structures as well as manufacture log components for homeowners and general contractors. We supply key components for a log accent project, or build your complete log shell.
We primarily use Douglas fir logs that are harvested locally in the Pacific Northwest. The logs are shipped directly to our yard where they are debarked by drawknife or high-pressure water. Our log crafters then scribe, cut, and mill the logs into your project. All of our log work is handcrafted; every piece is hand-fit together in the style you have selected for your home.
Log Homes are unique and beautiful, and in many ways are different from traditional homes. Log Homes typically use logs for the walls, roofs, stairs, and railings; these logs go through shrinkage, movement, and settling after construction of the home is completed. At Mountain Homes, we ensure that your log home is constructed properly in order to adjust for all of these things, drawing on our intimate knowledge of the trees we use.
